Sunset the home for AMMPT Western Region
The Sunset Hospital buildings are now being renovated with the AMMPT(WR) building now behind wire. Here are the team at the AMMPT(WR) museum. The complex is one of the largest early 20th century public health facilities in Western Australia. This unique riverside complex is a fine example of a 1904 residential institution, designed to reflect the palliative care needs of inmates of the era, and where the buildings remains intact today. The hospital was closed in 1995, and now several of the buildings are heritage listed. Sunset hospital was classified by the National Trust in 1993 and entered on the State’s Heritage Register in 1997.
