Committees for 2012

ctober has been the traditional month for both the

national committee and regional Committees to hold

their Annual general meetings. Election of office bearers is

scheduled for every second year, giving the committee a two

year term of office.

SOUTHERN REGION INTERIM COMMITTEE

meeting of over 20 existing and prospective members

attended a meeting at the Lemac Theatrette in

Richmond on Tuesday August 23 rd to listen to a presentation

given by the National President Daryl Binning who

explained the organisation’s structure and objectives. The

concept of having autonomous regional branches operating

under a common set of Constitutions and procedures,

affiliated with a national body on which is represented all

branches networking with each other for a mutual objective

was proposed and considered to be the best way ahead.

WESTERN REGION COMMITTEE

he Western Region 2011Annual General Meeting was

held on October 19 th . Office bearers appointed were;

To formalise the branch, it was necessary to have a local

membership register and for incorporation of AMMPT

Southern Region with Consumer affairs Victoria. An

interim committee was formed and requested they undertake

registration ASAP to permit a bank account, with initial

funding by the national committee, be established.

Since then, due to several factors , Andre, Milton, John and

Kevin have withdrawn from those positions. Malcolm

Richards has now made the necessary arrangements for the

incorporation.

ANCILLARY GIFT FUND TRUSTEES

s part of our obligation to operate an ATO approved

Ancillary Gift Fund – the legal structure which enable

donors to AMMPT to claim taxation deductions for their

financial contribution – a board of Trustees had to be

appointed to administer the fund. The Trustees are

responsible for allocating donated funds to approved national

and regional branch projects and initiatives.

John is a member of the Southern region

branch and regularly attends the Sydney

meetings as an observer.

Previously the Trustees were drawn from the Western region

membership – the only branch that had been fully

operational over the past seven years. As other branches get

firmly established, nominees from each will be appointed at

a national AGM every two years. Currently the trustees are;
